U.S. targets ISIS in Iraq with fresh airstrikes

U.S. officials said Monday the United States has taken the first step in its planned expanded fight against Islamic State militants, going to the aid of Iraqi security forces near Baghdad who were being attacked by enemy fighters.

The U.S. Central Command said it conducted two airstrikes Sunday and Monday in support of the Iraqi forces near Sinjar and southwest of Baghdad.

The strikes represent the newly broadened mission authorized by U.S. President Barack Obama to go on the offensive against the Islamic State group wherever it is. Previous U.S. airstrikes in Iraq were conducted to protect U.S. interests and personnel, assist Iraqi refugees and secure critical infrastructure. These strikes were in direct support of Iraqi forces fighting the militants.

Probing SITE Intelligence Group

James F. Tracy
Activist Post

Since mid-August 2014 major news organizations have conveyed videos allegedly found online by the SITE Intelligence Group. Unsurprisingly the same media have failed to closely interrogate what the private company actually is and whether the material it promotes should be accepted as genuine.

The Search for International Terrorist Entities Intelligence Group was co-founded by Rita Katz in 2001. Katz is an Iraqi-born Jew. Her father, an Israeli spy, was executed by Iraqis as a result of his intelligence activities...

How Scotland could be better off without its big banks

The Governor of the Bank, Mark Carney, noted this week that countries which adopt a foreign currency (as Mr Salmond has said an independent Scotland would adopt sterling) tend to hold foreign currency reserves worth at around 25 per cent of GDP in order to guarantee domestic financial stability. And if they also host large banking sectors holdings shoot up to more than 100 per cent of GDP.

Accumulating reserves on that scale would entail Scotland raising taxes or cutting spending for prolonged period. “Real fiscal costs” was how Mr Carney put it. But with a smaller domestic banking sector the need for such levels of reserves and austerity falls. A southward migration of banks’ brass plates could, in this respect, be the best independence present Scotland could hope for.

Queensland stations weld bins shut over increased terror threat

Brisbane railway stations have banned travellers from using their bins in response to an increase in Australia’s terror threat level.

Queensland Rail, which operates the stations, told The Australian that the bins had been welded shut and would be removed completely in the near future. Laminated signs have appeared over bins in Queensland’s most crowded stations saying “For safety reasons this bin is no longer available. Please take your rubbish with you”.

Russia freezes Ukraine into submission: Kiev admits country doesn't have enough fuel for winter

The Ukrainian government admits that it does not have enough fuel to heat homes and keep factories running through the winter. And the crisis comes with an economy already in meltdown. It was expected to contract by 7 per cent, but Valeria Gontareva, head of the National Bank of Ukraine, warned at the weekend that the real figure is likely to be 10 per cent. Exports to Russia, a key market, will fall by 35 per cent, she added; meanwhile the currency, the hryvnia, has depreciated by 50 per cent against the dollar in the past nine months.

After Russia cut off gas supplies to Ukraine in a dispute over unpaid bills, Kiev sought to replace the shortfall through “reverse flows”, taking Russian gas from countries such as Poland, Hungary and Slovakia. But Gazprom, Russia’s state gas company, has complained over the practice, denouncing it as “ a semi fraudulent mechanism” and threatened to reduce exports to these states so that none is left to send on to Ukraine.

Dutch throw tomatoes in fruity protest against Russian boycott

Around 2000 people gathered at the main square in Amsterdam on Sunday (September 14) to join a massive tomato fight in support of the Dutch vegetable growers who are being affected by a Russian boycott of the EU agricultural products.

The popular Spanish La Tomatina festival in Buñol inspired a few young Dutch entrepreneurs to organize Amsterdam's version of the tomato fight, drawing attention to the situation of Dutch tomato farmers affected by Russian sanctions.

In the fight that lasted for one hour the participants used about 10,000 kilograms of tomatoes.

To avoid completely wasting the food, the remaining pulp will be used as a source for making biogas, according to one of the organisers, Joep Verbunt.

MEGA BEX ALERT - Washington Risks Falling for Syria's ISIS Strategy, Again

But the White House is vowing to fight, declaring the United States is now at war with ISIS and will build an international coalition to crush the group. So far, the most enthusiastic response has come from the Syrian regime of Bashar Assad. It’s hardly surprising. In fact, it follows a consistent Syrian tactic of using Islamic militants to create instability — and then relying on the U.S. to destroy them.

Washington fell for it once, and may do so again. ISIS is in many ways a creation of the Syrian regime. Now Syria wants the U.S. to destroy the group.

Webmaster's Commentary:

So the latest propaganda is that ISIS is all Assad's fault, which makes as little sense as last year's propaganda that Assad was gassing his own Alawite supporters with a banned chemical weapons right in front of UN chemical weapons inspectors on the very day they arrived! The fact is that the US created and funded ISIS to use against Assad, only in classic blowback fashion ISIS went rogue and moved into Iraq, bolstered by the Iraqi people who want their country back from its US puppet rulers, much as Iran did in 1979 and Libya is doing today.

End 'panic' measures undermining fight against Ebola: Ghana

Ghana's President John Dramani Mahama on Monday called for the easing of restrictions on West African nations fighting Ebola, saying "panic" measures had led to isolation and undermined the battle against the disease.

Airlines have halted many flights into and around West Africa, where governments have closed some borders and imposed travel restrictions in a bid to fight an Ebola outbreak that has killed over 2,400 people.

Experts have warned such moves are counter-productive as economies are crippled by the lack of trade and it becomes harder to move aid workers and supplies to fight the virus around the region.

UK Hints At Next Reserve Currency, To Issue Chinese Yuan-Denominated Bond

Yuanification continues around the world. As The USA attempts to corral its allies in a 'broad coalition', an increasing number of people - including domestic economic policy advisors - are shifting away from the USD as primary reserve currency. However, the move by British Chancellor of the Exchequer George Osborne, announced Friday, is likely the most notable yet in the world's de-dollarization. As Xinhua reports, the British government intend to be the first nation (ex-China) to issue Renminbi denominated bond and to use the proceeds to finance the government's reserves of foreign currency. Osborne described this dialogue outcome as "a historic moment" and a statement of British confidence in the potential of the RMB to become "the main global reserves currency".

Before His Death, Father Of ADHD Admitted It Was A Fictitious Disease

The purpose all along for pathologizing ADHD symptoms, of course, was to generate more profits for the drug industry. According to the citizen watchdog group Citizens Commission on Human Rights International (CCHRI), roughly 20 million American children today are taking dangerous, but expensive, psychiatric drugs for made-up behavioral conditions like ADHD. And another one million or so children have been blatantly and admittedly misdiagnosed with phony behavioral conditions for which psychiatric medications are being prescribed.

While not direct evidence of life on Mars, the feature suggests that large asteroids hit Mars in the past, possibly creating conditions where life could survive.

1937 parallels for today's global economy

The depression that followed the stock-market crash of 1929 took a turn for the worse eight years later, and recovery came only with the enormous economic stimulus provided by the second world war, a conflict that cost more than 60 million lives. By the time recovery finally arrived, much of Europe and Asia lay in ruins.

The current world situation is not nearly so dire, but there are parallels, particularly to 1937. Now, as then, people have been disappointed for a long time, and many are despairing.

They are becoming more fearful for their long-term economic future. And such fears can have severe consequences.

Pennsylvania trooper killed in shooter’s ‘ambush’ on police barracks during shift-change: ‘He was a stand-up guy'

The Pennsylvania trooper killed in a Friday night police barracks shooting was a hardworking, “stand-up guy,” his friends say.

Now, Bryon Dickson’s heartbroken friends and family will lay him to rest.

The father-of-two was the only officer killed when a gunman "ambushed" police barracks in Blooming Grove Township during a trooper shift-change, State Police Commissioner Frank Noonan said at a Saturday press conference. A second trooper, Alex Douglass, was also injured.

Webmaster's Commentary:

This feels like a staged operation to build sympathy for the police to counter all the negative press they have been getting with beating up people, writing excessive tickets, and in general ignoring the Bill of Rights. This "ambush" will be used to justify a shoot-first attitude by the police and of course will be useful to the gun-grabber agenda.

Governors Behaving Badly Give Their States a Unique Place in American History

Even the most cynical of Americans feel that public officials have a duty to uphold the public trust. Since there seems to be fewer and fewer politicians who pursue public service for the good of, well, the public, calls for transparency on the part of our government are how we acknowledge that power can tempt even the most well meaning.

Our Nation Depends on Restoring Product Liability

Sadly, we have seen a trend in recent decades for the government to protect corporations against the people, rather than protecting the people against corporations. Along with computers, other industries we are dependent on are being protected against product liability lawsuits, such as vaccine manufacturers, and other biotech corporations. This is a practice typically seen under fascist governments, and it never ends well.

The computers don't last. The software will not install. The aqueducts are leaking. The roads are cracking.

Rome is falling.

Scottish independence: Wetherspoons boss says 'there's no reason why a small country can’t thrive'

JD Wetherspoon chairman Tim Martin has dismissed predictions that Scotland will face a decade of uncertainty if it votes for independence as "nonsense".

The outspoken pubs boss today said it was time for businessmen to stop pontificating on the issue and let the Scots make up their own mind in next week’s vote.

“I think there’s been a massive amount of nonsense talked, especially by businessman, about Scottish independence. There’s no reason why Scotland shouldn’t thrive as an independent economy if that’s what the Scots want. New Zealand has the same population, Switzerland does very well and Singapore with half the population is an economic miracle. There’s no reason why a small country can’t thrive.”

Scottish independence: Commerzbank says worst case economic scenarios 'exaggerated'

Days after Deutsche Bank reignited the Scottish “no” campaign with terrifying fears that a vote for independence would plunge Scotland back into a 1930s style depression, a rival German financial giant, Commerzbank, has said such speculation has been overdone.

The bank’s economists declared today that “some of the worst case scenarios painted in recent days appear exaggerated,” and provided evidence that Scottish shares have actually outperformed those of the UK as a whole this year, rather than registered any major collapse.

Economist Peter Dixon said: “Whilst the Scottish independence vote has raged, I am struck by just how little the markets have actually moved so far.”

Obama’s ISIL Strategy Is Riddled With Contradictions

In the past week, Secretary of State John Kerry has marshaled support of some sort from both European nations and from countries in the Middle East for the US push against ISIL. Ron Paul: Will The Swiss Vote to Get Their Gold Back?

On November 30th, voters in Switzerland will head to the polls to vote in a referendum on gold. On the ballot is a measure to prohibit the Swiss National Bank (SNB) from further gold sales, to repatriate Swiss-owned gold to Switzerland, and to mandate that gold make up at least 20 percent of the SNB’s assets.

Arising from popular sentiment similar to movements in the United States, Germany, and the Netherlands, this referendum is an attempt to bring more oversight and accountability to the SNB, Switzerland’s central bank.

The Swiss referendum is driven by an undercurrent of dissatisfaction with the conduct not only of Swiss monetary policy, but also of Swiss banking policy. Switzerland may be a small nation, but it is a nation proud of its independence and its history of standing up to tyranny.

Webmaster's Commentary:

The Swiss are about to find out that their Swiss Central Bank is not "theirs" at all, but part of a global enslavement cartel that owes no allegiance or loyalty to the nations in which they do their nefarious business.

Feds step up terrorist recruitment fight in U.S.

The U.S. Government is planning to step up its fight against recruiting of Americans by groups like the Islamic State in the Iraq and the Levant, Attorney General Eric Holder announced Monday.

In a video message posted on the Justice Department's website, Holder said a series of cities "across the nation" will be be chosen to participate in a pilot program that will involve an extra effort to combat the message of groups like ISIL and to intervene with those susceptible to that message before they take action.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Attorney General Holder, that last statement is contemptibly disingenuous.

For all the policies which bring even more money for the one percenters, and marginalize the American middle ever further into poverty, this administration has been always a slave of the large corporations which put this administration into power, twice.

Decent-paying jobs have been allowed to be offshored/outsourced to the point where decent family people have been forced into taking several minimum wage jobs with absolutely no hope whatsoever for advancement, just to barely pay the rent.

This has, in turn, pushed families, and particularly children, into poverty where getting the next meal can be a big issue.

And this Federally sponsored tsunami of illegal immigrants, many of them bringing illness into this country, unchecked?!? Of course, this will lower the cost of doing business, which large corporations love.

But what about Americans looking frantically, and consistently for work who were born here, or became citizens legally?!? Have these people stopped mattering, in the larger scheme of things, to this Administration?!?

These policies, Attorney General Holder, are NOT how one creates a "...more just, secure, and free society that all Americans deserve."

You, sir, should be ashamed at how President Obama's policies have been hurting this country, both domestically, and internationally.

Of course, I fully understand that before taking your oath of office, you, and all of your associates had your conscience surgically removed.

WHY DID THE WEST CREATE ISIS WHEN THEY ALREADY HAD ZIONISM?

If America had been truly serious about putting Iraq on the right path and instituting a genuine democracy, it would have issued legislation to protect human dignity and the right of the people to live within a framework of liberty, peace, security and safety! Instead, the United States did just the opposite, disrupting Iraq’s civilizational project.

“Strangely enough, America today is fighting ISIS, and has sent experts to Iraq for that very purpose. For whom? For the love of Iraqis? And for whose benefit does America support ISIS and provide it with weapons in Syria? For whose benefit does it support the al-Nusra Front? … Today it is essential for us to stand against, pay careful attention to, and analyze carefully, all American and Israeli plans. Flashback: UK man wins court case against BBC for 911 cover up

Tony Rooke refused to pay a TV license fee because the BBC intentionally misrepresented facts about the 9/11 attacks, he alleged. It is widely known that the BBC reported the collapse of World

Trade Center Building 7 over 20 minutes before it occurred. WTC 7 was a 47-story skyscraper that was not hit by a plane on 9/11 but collapsed at free-fall speed later that day.

So Rooke said the BBC had to have had prior knowledge to a terror attack making them complicit in the attack. He presented the BBC footage to the judge along with a slew of other evidence, and the judge agreed that Rooke had a reasonable case to protest. Rooke was found not guilty and he was not fined for failure to pay the licensing fee.

The U.S. National Debt Has Grown By More Than A Trillion Dollars In The Last 12 Months

The idea that the Obama administration has the budget deficit under control is a complete and total lie. According to the U.S. Treasury, the federal government has officially run a deficit of 589 billion dollars for the first 11 months of fiscal year 2014. But this number is just for public consumption and it relies on accounting tricks which massively understate how much debt is actually being accumulated. If you want to know what the real budget deficit is, all you have to do is go to a U.S. Treasury website which calculates the U.S. national debt to the penny. On September 30th, 2013 the U.S. national debt was sitting at $16,738,183,526,697.32. As I write this, the U.S. national debt is sitting at $17,742,108,970,073.37. That means that the U.S. national debt has actually grown by more than a trillion dollars in less than 12 months. We continue to wildly run up debt as if there is no tomorrow, and by doing so we are destroying the future of this nation.

Why Scotland Has All The Leverage, In One Chart

As always, the bottom line is about leverage and bargaining power. As we showed several days ago, Scotland's oil may be the single biggest wildcard in the entire Independence movement. To put into perspective what the loss of Scotland might feel like to the U.K., let’s think about the country as if it were a U.S. state. Scotland’s gross domestic product was about $211 billion in 2013. That puts it right in the middle of the pack among the 50 states.

However, Scotland means a great deal more to the U.K. than most states do to the broader U.S. The Scottish economy accounted for about 8.4 percent of the U.K.’s GDP last year. Only Texas (8.9 percent) and California (13.2 percent) accounted for a larger share of the U.S. economy.

Sen. Graham: Obama’s ISIS Plan ‘Fantasy,’ ‘Delusional’

Sen. Lindsey Graham went off on President Obama’s plan for combatting ISIS in Syria and Iraq, saying the plan to not put boots on the ground in Syria is “fantasy” and that the administration’s approach to the matter is “delusional.”

“This idea that we’re never going to have boots on the ground in Syria is fantasy. All this has come home to roost after the last three years of incompetent decisions,” said Graham.

Graham, who appeared on “Fox News Sunday,” was extremely critical of the president not considering putting boots on the ground, saying it is needed in order to combat ISIS.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Beyond The War On ISIS

Since the 9/11 attack, a new era has begun in favor of the American neoconservative elites.
Bush's administration declared war against al-Qaeda, and promised the American people to punish every person involved in 9/11 catastrophe.
Bush accused the former Iraqi regime of supporting al-Qaeda prior Iraq's invasion, and he also accused saddam's regime of reserving weapons of massive destruction. However, these accusations are now well-known to be deceptions. In fact, Saddam's regime was secular totalitarian regime which fought religious-based militias and assassinated many religious figures inside Iraq.

Oil is the keyword

George W. Bush is, by far, the most ignorant American president. For example, he had visited Austria and made reference to the non-existent "Austrian language". And he had been so Spanish illiterate as to refer to "Cinco de Cuatro (#4)" in front of the Mexican ambassador when it was the 5th of May (Cinco de Mayo), and continued to flub it when he tried again.

The Silver Sentiment Cycle

The patterns are similar, but the potential rally from present prices in 2014 looks like it could be even larger than the 1977 – 1980 rally. Why? See below. In the early 1970s silver went from “ho-hum” to “enthusiasm” to “wow, who would believe it could go to $6.40?” After the 2008 crash silver went from “going back to 5 bucks” to “enthusiasm” to “wow, who would believe it could go above $45?”

As a reminder, after silver rallied to the then astounding price of $6.40 in early 1974, it crashed back to $3.80 and then traded sideways for 2 years. Less than 3 years later it had briefly traded at $50.00, due to a combination of inflation, debt and deficits, political issues, conflict with the USSR, fear, a market corner, and dollar weakness.

Human Rights Watch Blasts the FBI’s ‘Terror Informant’ Industry

Here one prime example of the FBI’s Informant Industry – ever since the two Tsarnaev brothers were announced by the FBI as their “prime suspects” in the Boston Bombing which occurred on Monday April 15th, 2013, every major US media network and government agency had assumed (along with President Obama) that these suspects were guilty – based solely a single photograph claiming to place them as fleeing the scene of the alleged bombing. The FBI claimed to not know the names and identities of the brothers when they released their pictures to the world press, pleading, ‘please send us any information relating to these two new faces’. 21WIRE quickly discovered that not only did the FBI know who BOTH brothers were, but elder brother Tamerlan Tsarnaev had already been recruited by the agency as an informant (his file is likely classified, meaning the public are not allowed to know the real story), and was most likely working for either the FBI or another agency in that capacity.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Over 2 trillion becquerels of radioactive waste flowed from Fukushima plant into Pacific in just 10 months

At least 2 trillion becquerels' worth of radioactive material flowed from the crippled Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant into the Pacific Ocean between August 2013 and May 2014, plant operator Tokyo Electric Power Company (TEPCO) has admitted. The rate of release was 10 times higher than TEPCO's pre-meltdown threshold for radioactive material.

A becquerel is a unit for measuring radioactive material that corresponds to one unit of radioactive decay per second. It is a way of describing how much radiation is being emitted by radioactive material, in contrast to measuring the mass or volume of the material itself, the energy carried by the radiation or the biological impact of exposure.

Steven G. Salaita, whose job offer was rescinded after he posted vitriolic anti-Israel tweets during the recent Gaza war, made clear not long ago that he wants his position reinstated. At a September 9 press conference he dismissed reported efforts the university has made to reach a financial settlement instead. Meanwhile, at a meeting on September 10, the UIUC trustees soundly defeated a proposal to reconsider their withdrawal of the tenured position Salaita had been due to take up this semester

With the debate over the controversy brewing in university corridors, academic publications and in online discussions, pressure on the UIUC administration to reinstate Salaita has been growing. Five departments have voted no confidence in Chancellor Phyllis Wise, a handful of scholars have canceled planned lectures and events at UIUC, and several large academic organizations have issued statements condemning the decision not to hire Salaita.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Salaita was kicked out of his job, not for comments he made in a classroom, but comments he made as a private citizen that are protected by the First Amendment. Everyone who supports the termination of Salaita or of anyone for comments they make in private shows themselves to be an enemy of the Constitution and the Bill of Rights, and everything America is supposed to stand for.

On September 30th, 2013 the U.S. national debt was sitting at$16,738,183,526,697.32.

Government Continues To Ignore 9/11 First Responder’s Toxic Exposure

There were a unique group of people that emerged during 9/11. They were the ones who, instead of running away from the attacks, were running towards it. They were the helpers. They were the ones working for days trying to dig victims out of the debris. They were the ones who worked at ground zero trying to help emergency response units. They were the ones setting up missing persons areas.

Zionist group publishes target list of “anti-Israel” US professors

The Amcha Initiative, the Zionist organization that has repeatedly intimidated, spied on and harassed students and faculty, appears to be escalating its campaign by publishing what amounts to a target list of “anti-Israel” professors.

Amcha says that the list is made up of “218 professors identifying themselves as Middle East scholars, who recently called for the academic boycott of Israel in a petition.”

Palestinian Authority foils new Gaza war crimes probe

The leaders of the Palestinian Authority last month blocked efforts to bring Israeli war crimes in Gaza before the International Criminal Court (ICC), Al Jazeera’s investigative unit has discovered.

The TV channel revealed yesterday the existence of a letter from the office of top ICC prosecutor Fatou Bensouda (published in full by The Electronic Intifada below) in which she recounted a private 5 August meeting with Riad Malki, the PA foreign minister.

It is difficult to read her account of the meeting as anything other than Malki obstructing the process of investigating Israeli war crimes in Gaza.

Webmaster's Commentary:

This will drive the Palestinians away from the PA and towards HAMAS.

Anger in Jerusalem after Israel kills another Palestinian teen

Muhammad Sinokrot, who would have turned sixteen years old on 9 December, was not particularly fond of school and his grades were not great. But he was a hard-working boy and was keen on improving.

A few months earlier, he had borrowed his cousin’s graduation gown to wear while posing in front of a camera. He had two years left to graduate from high school, and this portrait emboldened him to work even harder.

An Israeli rubber-coated steel bullet in the head, however, decimated his dreams and cut short his very young life.

American dominance of world order

Achieving world mastery requires confronting questionable areas, current or potential obstructionism to American dominance, sequentially ordered in an intended systematic pattern of hegemony, except that at present multiple trouble spots have appeared—e.g., Iran, Ukraine, ISIS—that muddy the waters.

Homeland In-Security Often Pits Film Biz Vs. L.A. Water & Power Department

When location manager Kris Bunting requested permission to film on a water tower in Griffith Park, the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power said no. “They are concerned about our poisoning the water table,” Bunting said in an email to his producer.

The scene called for two actors to unlock a gate and climb up a set of stairs on the outside of the tank. “They gave me every excuse,” Bunting told Deadline about the request last December. “Homeland security was brought up. I said, ‘This is not a secured reservoir. Anybody who has access to Griffith Park could hop that fence.’ ”

Europe Has Lost Its Monetary Mind?

Europe's Weak Because It's Uncompetitive ... In the long-running debate over Europe's feeble economic recovery, monetary policy has taken center stage as if printing money to spur demand can solve Europe's troubles. According to two newly released competitiveness reports, the real problem lies elsewhere: labor costs, which have been growing faster than productivity, and underinvestment.

Is It Finally John McCain's America?

Senator John McCain, one of the last non-anguished interventionists in Washington (his Sancho Panza, fellow Republican Lindsey Graham, is another), had a very good last week.

He watched President Barack Obama decide to drop bombs on Syria, a policy McCain has long endorsed. He saw the non-interventionist wing of his party suddenly revise its views when it came under pressure from Middle East reality. He played polar bear to ex-White House flack Jay Carney’s baby seal on CNN.

Webmaster's Commentary:

So, you know one of the people to get the blame for all of this!

No Accountability: Obama Admin Officials Hide Truth Over War

Obama administration officials late this week made conflicting statements about the critical question of whether the United States is at war with the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIL).

The White House and Pentagon on Friday used the word “war” to describe U.S. military actions in Iraq and Syria.

Obama administration has been supplying military equipment to colleges across the U.S

The U.S. government has not just been equipping police with military weaponry; they’ve been supplying such weapons to colleges as well. According to The Chronicles of Higher Education:

“Should the campus police at the University of Central Florida ever need a modified grenade launcher, one sits waiting in the department’s armory. Retooled to fire tear-gas canisters, the weapon was used several years ago for training purposes, according to Richard Beary, the university’s chief of police. It hasn’t left storage since.

Rosetta: Audacious comet landing site chosen

Scientists and engineers have spent weeks studying the 4km-wide "ice mountain" known as 67P, looking for a location they can place a small robot.

They have chosen what they hope is a relatively smooth region on the smaller of the comet's two lobes.

But the team is under no illusions as to how difficult the task will be.

Martin Armstrong-Next Decline Will Be Far Worse Than Last One

On the recent strength of the U.S. dollar, financial expert Martin Armstrong says, “The central banks only have the dollar, that’s it. It is the reserve currency. We just had a former Obama economist come out a few days ago and say the risk to the United States is a strong dollar, and we should give up the reserve currency position. Why? Because they realize there is no other choice. What are you going to do, put your retirement money in rubles? How about Yuan? There is no place you can go. It’s only dollars.” So, is the dollar is not going to fall out of bed anytime soon? Armstrong says, “Not yet. You have to take the dollar up, and that will bring gold down short term. Also, as war begins to happen, you have to realize that capital flees from wherever conflict is. The more conflict you have in the Middle East and Europe, the more money is going to come this way (to the U.S.)”

Louisiana fishermen still suffering from 2010 oil spill

Four years after oil spill disaster, the Gulf of Mexico seafood industry is still holding its breath as a result of the tragedy.
The Louisiana fishermen say the oyster population in the Gulf of Mexico has yet to rebound and continues to suffer lower birth rates and higher mortality rates than before the 2010 spill.

As a result of the disaster, Oyster production in Louisiana, which typically accounts for one third of all oyster production nationwide, dropped by half in 2010. Experts are still probing potential problems with crabs and shrimps as well. Last week, Federal judge Carl Barbier ruled that oil giant BP acted with “gross negligence” during the 2010 Deepwater Horizon disaster.
